Are you in an abusive relationship?

Domestic violence is a pattern of behaviors used to gain & maintain power and control over an intimate partner.  These behaviors take many forms including verbal insults, economic control and psychological, physical or sexual assaults.  Although emotional or physical abuse may start at a minor level, it often increases in intensity as the relationship continues and rarely stops after the pattern is set.

Not all relationships involving emotional abuse and control end in violence.  However, almost all violent relationships start with emotional abuse and control.
